Meetings

Spring 2009: This has been arranged for the evening of Thursday 14 May 2009 in London. Please note this May date; in the past the spring meeting has usually been held in March

Autumn 2009: This will be held in Birmingham on Friday & Saturday October 23 & 24 2009 and will enable members to visit the Assay Office and exhibitions on Matthew Bolton, the silversmith and entrepreneur whose Soho Works were in Birmingham - but note that the exhibition at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery ends in September. Matthew Boulton died two hundred years ago, in 1809. More details on the Meetings page.

Journal

The Autumn 2008 Journal was posted to members on 25 September - details on the Journal page

Antique Fairs

In December there are as usual fewer major antique fairs. There are however several at locations like showgrounds, including 2-3 December at Swinderby Airfield, near Lincoln; 4-5  at Newark & Notts Showground; 7 Three Counties Showground, Malvern; and 12-14 County Showground, Stafford. In the holidays several fairs are at educational establishments: 6-7 Derby University; 19-21 Westonbirt School, nr Tetbury, Glos; 20-21 Oundle School, nr Peterborough. Other traditional locations include 5-7 The Harrogate Pavilions Christmas Fine Art & Antiques Fair; 7 Woodland Centre, Rustington, Sussex; and after Christmas 27-28 Pavilion Gardens, Buxton; and 30 Norfolk Centre, Arundel.

This is just a selection. There are fuller listings and more details on two websites Antiques Trade Gazette and Antiques News and other fairs will be advertised in the local press; and it's always wise to check dates and times before travelling as these can change.
